Photo-activated disinfection   and temporary obturation  are widely  used  in  the   treatment  of  apical  periodontitis since  effective elimination of microorganisms in infected root canal systems is an important concern for endodontics. The article presents  results of microbiological  research  in  the  teeth  with chronic apical peridontitis  before  and  after  the  treatment.

Key words:  photo-activated disinfection, temporary obturation, calcium hydroxide, microflora, chronic apical periodontitis.

        Фотоактивована  дезінфекція  та  тимчасова  обтурація  широко  використовуються  у лікуванні  хронічного  апікального  періодонтиту. У статті представлені результати мікробіологічного  дослідження вмісту кореневих каналів перед та після  лікування. 

Ключові  слова: фотоактивована дезінфекція, тимчасова  обтурація, гідроксид  кальцію,  мікрофлора, хронічний апікальний  періодонтит.
